"One Works" is a vital component of the gallery's commitment to the discussion and creation of individual artworks.

This is in part inspired by the Afterall book series: “each title focusing on a single artwork that has significantly shaped the way we understand art and its history. The books insist that a single contemporary work of art (in all its different manifestations) can affect our understanding of art in general. More than that, these books suggest that a single work of art can literally transform, however modestly, the way we look at and understand the world.” This approach also relates to the typical four-hour critiques with Professor Willem de Rooij at Staedelschule, where we would dedicate the entire session to examining a single work.
The following works have been commissioned or created in close collaboration between the artist and the gallery, often involving months or even years of development.
